About Maria Brown

Maria received her B.A. in psychology and religious studies from Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon. It was there that she developed a healthy fascination with Freud, Jung, neuroscience, philosophy, cults, Dostoevsky, Nabokov, and a multitude of others.

She learned massage therapy in Costa Rica where preventative health, nutrition, and lifestyle was the focus. After working as a massage therapist she felt that the greater need was to empower people to practice self-care. In India she learned how to teach yoga and in her kitchen in Albuquerque, New Mexico she learned the art of herbalism, which she continues to learn in her home in San Diego.

Maria is passionate about creating awareness where awareness is needed, sharing accurate, honest information, and always trying to understand the underlying drives of humankind.

December 21, 2016 By Maria Brown 1 Comment

Headed to Standing RockWhen we are little, we are taught that Thanksgiving is a commemoration of the first meal the Pilgrims and Indians shared. It is a story of strangers working together to survive that first harsh winter in a foreign place, our Native brothers and sisters helping us with their knowledge of the land.
