Barrio Logan is little known to most San Diegans – beyond being a predominantly Mexican-American neighborhood near downtown. Yet it is one of San Diego’s most historically significant and culturally important neighborhoods.
About Mario Torero
Immigrant from lima Peru to Barrio Logan at 12years old in 1960
with well known artist father Guillermo Acevedo. They were part of the Chicano Movement.
Mario is a founder member of the Centro Cultural de la Raza and of Chicano park. Went on to also be a founding board member of the San Diego Commission of Arts and Culture. World traveler involved in Artivism, he serves as an international ambassador to Barrio Logan and to the history of the San Diego Art District's evolution throughout these decades, and being and Artivist for a healthy environment around Chicano Park.
